As part of your role at a local authority you have been asked to look at your own Personal Development Plan (PDP) and ensure that any objectives that have been set meet the criteria of being SMART objectives.

Your research should look into the following areas:

  • Research what the acronym SMART stands for
  • Find out why it is important to set SMART objectives in a personal development plan
  • Find out what can happen if objectives are not SMART
  • Research why setting goals using the SMART criteria is important
