Texturing is the process which is used for filament from thermoplastic materials to make them permanently bulky via various methods:
- Flat-twist texturing
- Air-jet texturing
- Stuffer-box texturing

Most texturized yarns are produced from fibres which are:
In order to permanently change the surface properties of man-made fibres through the use of heat. These fibres have a tendency to soften at higher temperatures and thus become mouldable.
