Pretreatment of textiles
Pretreatment/preparation means preparing the textile fibres properly for downstream processes such as dying, printing and finishing.
Pretreatment is an important step prior to dyeing and finishing, which is a requirement and prerequisite for good results in dyeing and finishing.
The preparation processes focuses on:
- improving absorbency (higher dye or finish uptake and more uniform treatment)
- reducing shrinkage
- removing impurities
- obtaining the desired degree of whiteness
- improving comfort.
